Some of Nelda's awards and honors include: Recipient of the 1991 Award for Excellence in Community Service in the field of Art given by the Heritage of Odessa Foundation, Recipient of Lifetime Member Award for Outstanding Community Service given by the Odessa, Texas Chamber of Commerce, and Nelda was the Regional Winner (in an eight state region) for Best Sole Proprietor at the Working Woman Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards in 2001, sponsored by Working Woman Magazine.
